Meet Becky

Married and with three children and Twiggy their golden retriever dog, Becky lives in South Devon within walking distance from the beach. She now has a full collection of Devon and Cornwall's prints spanning from St Ives, to Padstow and Dartmoor.

Becky’s work draws inspiration from the railway posters of the 1930s. Her vintage seaside posters are modern and fresh, showing locations off at their best without the fuss and rush of the modern world. Her work shows a time before the current obsession with the latest gadgets and gizmos – that idealistic notion of life drifting at an easier slower pace.

Becky began this style of work when she was asked to exhibit in the gallery at Greenway – the home of Agatha Christi now owned by the National Trust – back in 2013. She realised this enchanted look would lend itself perfectly with the nostalgic beauty of Greenway, which proved to be right and the images were an instant hit. The exhibition was a huge success and from there Becky’s portfolio and popularity blossomed and her reputation has grown from strength to strength.

So why paint Watergate Bay? “I love visiting Watergate Bay, it is stunning and wild. With its large expanse of golden beach meeting the Atlantic on one side and the steep cliffs on the other. The energy makes you feel happy and alive.”
